Lesson 1 - GOAL SETTING & COMMUNICATION
UNIT PLAN
The Unit Plan is accessed by clicking the button on the left of these instructions. It contains essential information, (Learning Goals, Success Criteria and Teaching Stategies), for the requirements of this unit. The Unit Plan needs to be downloaded, read and stored in your Year 10 Health & Human Devleopment folder that you are now required to set-up on your desktop.
GOAL SETTING
Students are now to access thier Goal Setting & Review Sheet by clicking the 'SMART' button on the left.

Complete the 'Commencement' sections for Learning Outcomes and Student Learning. This document should now be stored in your Year 10 HHD folder.
ASSESSEMENT RUBRIC
Access the Year 10 Viruses Assessment Rubric on the left. Read through it and make sure you understand the assessment requirements of this unit.

Store the Assessemnt Rubric in your Year 10 Health & Human Development folder on your desktop.

Our objective today is to formalise our communication channels for the comming weeks.

At the start of each lesson log on to Compass in order to receive up-dated instructions.

INFORMATION FLUENCY METHOD OF RESEARCH - REVISITED
ASK - This involves compiling a list of critical questions about what knowledge or data is being sought. The key here is to ask good questions, because that’s how you get good answers.
ACQUIRE - Accessing information isn’t as easy as it used to be. This stage involves accessing and collecting informational materials from the most appropriate digital and non-digital sources.
ANALYSE - With all the raw data and or information collected we must now authenticate, organize, and arrange it all. This stage also involves ascertaining whether information is true or not, and distinguishing the good from the bad.
APPLY - Once data is collected and verified, and a solution is finally created, the knowledge must then be practically applied within the context of the original purpose for the information quest.
ASSESS & AKNOWLDGE - This involves open and lively discussions about how the problem-solving journey could have been made more efficient, and how the solution created could be applied to challenges of a similar nature. Reference (list in a bibligraphy) all resources used.
