INTRODUCTION

COURSE OUTLINE
The aim of the Elite Sports Program (ESP) is to develop the knowledge and training experiences required to further advance participants sporting abilities.
During this course students will research, develop and implement a personalised training program.

ACTIVITY 1 - MY BACKGROUND

Reasons for electing to participate in the Elite Sports Program, (ESP).  100 words​

Give a brief outline of your sporting background, your sporting goals and your expectations of this course.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS

  • The class will run in a similar fashion to which a Sporting Team or Club runs.

  • Be on time.

  • Change into correct Sports Uniform.

  • Incorrect uniform will require a dated note from home to participate.

  • No shoes, jeans, foreign head gear or singlets will be allowed.

  • A comprehensive warm-up will take place prior to any activity, (at least 5 minutes aerobic and 5 minutes stretching).

  • Don't enter storerooms or office without permission.

  • Stay with our class - no wondering off.

  • Be positive.

  • Assist and encourage each other.

  • Follow instructions without being argumentative.

  • Increase work ethic.

  • Complete all theory requirements prior to activity.

  • Act and train like athletes not students.

UNIT 1 - WARM UPS

UNIT 1 - WARM UPS (Period 4 - Practical - Hall)

Today we will be testing a variety of aerobic warm-up activities to see which best fits our unique set of circumstances.  Students are not limited to the list below, any additional activities are to be discussed with their instructor. Students are to complete at least 5 minutes of each of the following forms of aerobic warm-up.  They are to use this to decide which activity they will use during their warm-ups sessions.  All aerobic warm-up activities are to be done at low to medium intensity

  • Running (jogging)

  • Skipping

  • Cycling

  • Boxing (Heavy -bag)

  • Boxing (Speedball)

  • Rowing 

  • Stair-climb

  • Other activity of your choice

  • Decide which warm-up activity best suits your circumstances.  This will be used during your Strength & Conditiong Program once developed.
